Reuben J. Blount was a Georgian who came to Arkansas in 1811 and died at his home 10 miles west of Lewisburg, February 20, 1841. 

In 1833, he patented NE1/4 SE1/4 Section 36, T 7N R18W in Pope County (south of Atkins).
