HISTORICAL NOTE

Patricia A. Loew, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Life Science Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a producer and field producer for Wisconsin Pubic Television’s news magazine format series for WHA-TV (PBS).  She is former co-host of WeekEnd, a weekly news and public affairs program, and author of numerous scholarly and general interest articles on Native topics.  She has produced several award –winning documentaries, including No Word for Goodbye, Spring of Discontent, Throwaway Future, and Nations Within a Nation, which have appeared on commercial and public television stations throughout the country.  Loew is author of Indian Nations of Wisconsin:  Histories of Endurance and Renewal (2001).  Loew is an enrolled member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

The Patricia A. Loew Collection contains correspondence among members of  the  Board of Directors of the Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) during the period June 2000 to May 2001.  See also the Native American Journalists Association Collection.
