HISTORICAL NOTE

Jack D. Filipiak, faculty emeritus of the History Department of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, holds a B.Ed. from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an M.A. from Marquette University with additional study toward a Ph.D. at  the University of Denver.  He was editor of The Indian Captivity of Mary Kinnan, 1791-1794, A Long Forgotten Frontier Tragedy by C. Phelps and L. McKinnie.  He is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

The Jack D. Filipiak Collection consists of materials related to Native American organizations and Wisconsin Treaty Rights and copies of  newsletters and other periodicals.  Materials cover the period 1969 to 1998.
