The University approved long-range plan of the Sequoyah Research Center calls for the construction of a uniquely designed building that will house the American Native Press Archives and exhibit the Dr. J.W. Wiggins Native American Art Collection, and that will become a place of destination for Native people. Your contribution to the Building Fund will support two efforts:
Constructing and furnishing the building
Building an endowment to maintain the building and its programs

The Scholarships and Fellowships Fund help support a Native American graduate student assistant to work with a Sequoyah Research Center director or archivist in developing in depth research and resource guides to the American Native Press Archives collections and mkaing them accessible to the general public. A fellowship will have a tenure of two academic years, the period normally required for the student to complete coursework for a graduate degree.

Contributions to the Acquistions Fund help defray the costs transferring donated archival materials from the donor to the Sequoyah Research Center. They also help defray the costs of processing collections of materials that are acquired by the Center and in storing them in acid free folders and boxes on archival quality shelves to help preserve them for future generations.

Since 2001, the Sequoyah Research Symposium has provided an annual forum for 20 to 30 Native speakers during a two and one-half day period. Contributions will help in several ways:
Defray travel expenses and pay speaker fees for individual speakers
Support media dissemination of symposia proceedings
Develop the Sequoyah Research Center Symposium Endowment
